I have been alive for 27 years and 11 months; that’s 881,107,200 seconds of continuous breathing, of taking in the sights, sounds, and wonders of the world around me. And although I have had millions of amazing moments, I have also had my fair share of disappointments.
After years of growth as a writer, scholar, and evangelical woman, I have learned to accept the highs and lows of this life. They are a part of our journey from this world to the next, and like any intelligent globetrotter, the God-fearing Christian knows that they don’t have to travel down those roads alone.
As Lynda Randle says in the song “God On The Mountain”:
The God on the mountain is still God in the valley
When things go wrong, he’ll make them right
And the God of the good times is still God in the bad times
The God of the day is still God in the night
If you are reading this blog post, you are probably in the middle of another valley. The joy, wonder, and excitement that you felt on the mountaintop are gone, and darkness is destroying the things that you once loved. At this point in your journey, it’s hard to remember that there are more mountains for you to climb, and more mountaintop moments for you to experience.
I hope that these encouraging bible verses will lift your spirits, and remind you that God is leading you to something greater than you have ever experienced before.
